Head Coach - Will Johnston

Coach Will started with CUA in 2015-2016 season as Assistant Coach to Nick Williamson. Will assumed the head coaching position at the start of the 2017-2018 season. Prior to joining CUA, he spent a season as Assistant Coach at Mount Saint Mary's University.

As of the end of the 2019/20 season, under Coach Will, the Birds have a record of 36-22-0-2 which include two league (Patriot and American) championships and an appearance in the CHF National Tournament. Coach Will was awarded Coach of the Year for the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.

Assistant Coach - Stephen Terenzio

Stephen graduated from Catholic with a major in Finance in 2019. He played all four years for the Birds on defense and was a part of the 2018-19 DVCHC American Championship. Stephen also served as President and Vice President for the club during his playing career.

Stephen is from Barrington, NH and is currently living Fairfax, VA. He is a Financial Analyst at Rapid Finance.

Marketing & Communication Manager - Kelli Rasmussen

Kelli Rasmussen is currently a Junior at Catholic University and set to graduate in 2022-23. She is currently pursuing a BSBA with a major in Business Administration and a specialization in Sports Management and Marketing.

In her role, Kelli will help with growing the program's brand, social media presence and assists with all marketing decisions and implementation.

Head Scout - Matt Powers

Matt Powers is currently the Head Coach of the U14 and U16 for the Baltimore Stars in Baltimore, MD. Matt has been involved in the local Maryland youth hockey scene his entire life. Before moving to the Baltimore Stars, Matt not only played for the Howard Huskies but also started his coaching career with them. He also played under Coach Will at Mount Saint Mary's before playing for the Jersey Shore Wildcats in the NA3HL. 

In his role, Matt will assist in the scouting and recruiting of local players in the Maryland and DC area.
